Speed of Delivery

Speed of Delivery

Many assume it’s about the quality of the writing, not what the writing can offer them.

I know seven- and eight-figure earners whose emails sometimes contain spelling, grammatical, and punctuation errors. Not a cent is subtracted from their wallets when these mistakes are made, and to the contrary, they often get more engagement on emails with errors than those without.

Many assume it’s how a website looks, not what the website does.

I know crappy looking websites that out-earn impeccably designed websites any day of the week.

The striving for the masterpiece is not the problem. The problem is many who set out to create masterpieces never get around to finishing them and sharing them with the world.

Publishing daily is not about crafting a masterpiece. A certain amount of work goes into writing, editing, and polishing the piece, yes. But the aim of publishing daily is timely delivery. Sharing an observation. Being generous. Showing up to practice.

In any financial endeavor, speed of delivery trumps obsession over perfection. Create the best social media post, or email, or product you can, but know when to call it “good enough” and ship.

New Merchandise is Here

New Merchandise is Here

This quarter, I’ve been focused on the creation of six new merchandise items. As of yesterday, I have added two more to the four already created, fulfilling on that commitment.

I’ve always been excited about the idea of creating my own merchandise, but putting a structure around it and committing to the outcome has made a difference in me pushing forward with this project where I might have otherwise put it off until later.

I love it that the tools are better than ever, and there’s barely any friction to setting up custom merchandise anymore. It’s still not whiz-bang easy, but if you’ve got your designs ready, and you know the process, it takes 20, maybe 30 minutes per item.

Anyway, here’s what’s new:

The Music Entrepreneur Unisex T-Shirt

The Music Entrepreneur Unisex T-Shirt

The Music Entrepreneur formed the foundation of what would ultimately become Music Entrepreneur HQ. But in the early days, I had a logo professionally designed. Even at that point, the potential was obvious to me. I knew the logo would look great on custom merchandise.

It’s taken a long time to get to this point, but for the first time ever, a T-shirt donning this beautiful logo is available.

The shirt is available in S, M, L, XL, and in multiple colors – black heather, heather midnight navy, dark grey heather, and aqua.

You can grab the t-shirt here.

The Music Entrepreneur Unisex Fleece Zip Up Hoodie

To round out the selection, I’ve also created a unisex fleece zip up hoodie donning the logo that’s still very much associated with Music Entrepreneur HQ today.

The hoodie is available in S, M, L, XL, and in multiple colors – black, charcoal heather, navy, and alpine green.

So far, this is the only piece of merchandise with an embroidered logo. Neat!

You can grab the hoodie here.

Final Thoughts

I’ve identified a couple of other items I would love to add The Music Entrepreneur logo to, so stay tuned. I don’t have a deadline for those, but when they’re ready, I’ll be sure to let you know.

New Homepage Layout at Music Entrepreneur HQ

New Homepage Layout at Music Entrepreneur HQ

If you’ve visited Music Entrepreneur HQ recently, you’ve probably noticed that we’ve been giving the site a facelift… slowly but surely.

Most recently, we put a little muscle into the new homepage layout.

We are still thinking about whether to add additional modules. If we were, we would probably create a module for the podcast, as well as a module that talks more about me.

What do you think? We’d love to hear your thoughts.

Here are a few screenshots of the new homepage layout:

My favorite thing about the new layout is the testimonials. We’ve framed it as “what high-performing musicians, creatives, industry executives, and entrepreneurs are saying about David and Music Entrepreneur HQ.”

We used to have this all separated out into different avenues and channels. This time, we brought it all together.

This feels truer to me. It’s not just musicians I’ve been able to help. I’ve contributed to executives, entrepreneurs, and creatives too.

We’ve got more work to do, but gradually the site is evolving into a simplified, streamlined version of its former self, which is what we wanted.
