In last week’s post, we touched on the idea of analysis paralysis.

This is a common issue with people, especially intelligent and sensitive individuals. Having the capacity for analysis is a gift, but if it’s hindering you from taking action, it’s doing you more harm than good.

For those who want to create wealth in their lives, getting the action habit is a must. Here is how to overcome your penchant for analysis.

How to overcome analysis paralysis

Release Perfectionism

Intelligent, creative types are often perfectionists. They try to get all of their ducks in a row before moving forward with a project. However, even if your ducks are all in a row, it just means that your problems are all in the same place. This can cause bigger problems to manifest.

A person with a melancholy personality is always looking for perfection. It is not a want. It is a need. How they handle perfectionism is how they handle their heart.

However, regardless of what temperament you have, it’s a good idea to gently separate yourself from the perfectionism trap. A good idea executed now is better than an excellent idea that’s never acted on.

Overcome Fear

If you’ve taken the time to examine a problem from every angle and you still can’t come to a decision, it’s because you are trying to piece together contradictory information. Most situations that arise in life are subjective; you can’t always do the same things someone else has done and expect to see the same results.

Chances are good that your initial gut feeling was right. Gathering all of the data in the world won’t necessarily help you to reach a better decision. In effect, you wasted time that could have been better spent taking action and learning from it rather than thinking.

If you’re having trouble acting, it is likely because you are fearful of situations that could arise. However, most of the time, worst-case scenarios never even manifest. You have to overcome your fears, and, if necessary, act even when you’re afraid.

Put the Worthiness Issue to Rest

Another mental block with analysis paralysis is that of the worthiness issue. It could be subconscious, but somewhere deep down you wonder if you’re really worthy of completing a project, building a business, amassing wealth, or whatever it may be.

God isn’t a respecter of persons. In other words, those who put in the time and effort will still be rewarded for their diligence, regardless of who they are.

Only you can determine your self-worth. No one else can do it for you. Invest in your own growth and personal development. This is a wonderful way of letting your subconscious mind know that you are worth investing in.

Get a Bigger Dream

When your dream is big enough, even hard decisions and actions will seem easy. This is because you will have found an objective or a dream that is truly worthy of your time and effort.

If fear and analysis paralysis is holding you back, it’s because you haven’t found a truly congruent end goal yet.

You may need to take some time to reflect on your goals and your personal vision. It may be time to realign yourself with your ultimate purpose.
