Hey there, it’s David Andrew Wiebe. I know it’s been a while since I’ve done an update like this one. And I’m sure many of you are wondering, “what the heck have you been up to?” Well, anyway…
I wanted to let you know that I do keep my website updated with all the latest shows. Even though I may not have a ton of updates like this one, or blog posts, I’m still posting all the latest shows that I’m performing with various bands. So, you can go to DavidAndrewWiebe.com and learn about all the latest shows. Shows, DavidAndrewWiebe.com. Not really sure where else you would go to find out about those shows. Maybe Facebook? Facebook’s not a bad place, but I think we all win when you go to DavidAndrewWiebe.com to learn about all the latest shows.
And speaking of shows, I have one coming up at The Brass Monkey this weekend, March 18, 2017, in Calgary. If you happen to be in Calgary, come on out. And if you’re from another planet, come on out. I think we’re going to have a really good time there.
Because I’m having a couple members from Adrenalize join me and we’ve formed a bit of a power trio. We’ve only had one practice together so far, we are going to have another. But we’re sounding really good. Even I’m pleasantly surprised by the results so far.
And it’s mostly a thing of convenience to be honest. Had a lot of great collaborators through the years, and I don’t want to discount any of them. Anna, Taylor, Patrick, Josh, and others. And you guys all contributed a lot to the music and hopefully we get to get together and do more together at some point. It just so happens, this show I’m doing with members from Adrenalize. And that’s kind of how things worked out. But we’re sounding good.
I think it’s the first time I’ve done a show like this where I’ve had proper bass player, proper drummer, and I just get to handle guitar. And only have to think about guitar and singing. Well, singing too, of course. Guitar and singing. And the lyrics. Can’t forget the lyrics. I mean, it’s pretty easy to forget the lyrics actually. Anna knows this about me.
I’ve also been demoing some new songs. You’ll be glad to know that I think. I still keep on writing here and there, I still come up with new ideas. Lyrics and musical ideas still continue to come to me, believe it or not.
What am I even talking about? I released four new singles last year. If you missed out on those, check them out. There’s some good songs there:
I’m actually really proud of what I was able to accomplish with those. Now, if I had them to do over again, certainly I would have made some improvements, but when I listen to them and certainly compare them against my past works, they’re pretty good.
Have a listen. Go to Spotify. Better yet, maybe go to Google Play. Actually, better yet, go to Microsoft Groove. That’s a better one. Or is it? Maybe not. But we do get paid more as artists when you go to Microsoft Groove. Actually, just go to iTunes and spend some money there, because that’s probably the best way to get rewarded as an artist. Or you could buy it at CD Baby, that works too. I don’t care, just go where you go.
I also wanted to let you know that I am working on my second book. It’s called Flashes of Elation: Navigating the World as a Sensitive, Creative Soul. This is really coming along at this point, and I’m looking forward to releasing it and launching it later this year. And I hope you’ll check that out. I’ll certainly leave a link in the description. Although I guess if this is Facebook, then, it might not be in the description. So, maybe watch this video on my website instead at DavidAndrewWiebe.com and that way it’ll be in the description, or you could say the blog post itself. I don’t know. If it’s YouTube, it’s in the description. If it’s in the blog post, can you really call it a description?
Anyway, I’ll see you over at DavidAndrewWiebe.com.
